We've designed this pattern for confident beginners. The quilting process is straightforward and methodical, and every step, from sandwiching the batting to binding the edges and making the ties, is illustrated and explained clearly so you can work through it at a comfortable pace.

What you'll make: A padded, quilted laptop sleeve with a fold-over flap and fabric ties that’s soft, protective, and completely made by you.

You'll need:

  • 1m of main fabric (outer)

  • 1m of lining fabric

  • 70cm of batting (fusible foam or regular batting both work)

  • Matching Gutermann thread

  • Sewing machine

  • An iron

Optional: 80cm of contrast fabric for the edge binding if you'd prefer a different fabric to your lining. Full requirements and cutting instructions are included in the booklet.

Quilting through multiple layers, bias binding, creating fabric ties, and a neat folded flap finish; techniques that open up a whole range of future projects.
