Our Individual Sewing Classes are designed for those who wish to focus on their sewing abilities and learn new skills in a personalised setting. Whether you're a beginner eager to start your sewing journey or an experienced sewer aiming to refine advanced techniques, our private classes offer the flexibility to work on projects at your own pace.
Personalised learning
Tailor your learning experience to your interests and skill level. Beginners can start with our recommended projects, such as pencil cases, cushion covers, aprons, pyjamas, hair scrunchies, and tote bags. More experienced sewers might choose to focus on pattern-making, adjustments, or other advanced techniques.

Whether it’s refining your pattern to fit like a dream or tackling any other sewing challenge, we offer a warm and supportive environment to explore and elevate your skills. Many of our participants enjoy working through more advanced projects like pattern adjustments.

We recommend that beginners start with our Beginner Project Item List, which includes items like a pencil case, cushion cover, apron, pyjamas, hair scrunchies, and a tote bag.
If you choose your own project to create, we suggest starting with an easy level pattern.

Home sweet home
Our cosy sewing studio is your creative home, equipped with sewing machines, cutting tables, and all the tools necessary to bring your creations to life. Our well-stocked studio kitchen is available for tea and coffee while you sew.
Join in the crafting fun
You can book in for multiple days by selecting the date and time, and then clicking ‘Select And Add Another Time’.

It’s completely up to you! If you are a beginner sewer we suggest that you start with the Beginner Project Item List. Have a look through some sewing patterns and see if anything takes your fancy.

f you are a beginner sewer we suggest that you start with the Beginner Project Item List. Once you’ve decided what to sew, you’ll need to ensure you have all the materials to make it!
Read over the pattern you’ve selected and choose the fabric type suggested by the pattern as well as ensuring you get the correct meterage. If you need help understanding the requirements on the pattern, as the friendly staff at the fabric store. Make sure to pick up any haberdashery you need as well; think threads, zips and buttons.
We have complimentary tea and coffee in the studio but if you’re wanting to nibble on some snacks while you create, feel free to bring your own. We have some crockery in the studio kitchen you’re welcome to use.
Now you’ve got all the items you need for your project, bring them along to class to start sewing.

Each class you’ll spend time working on your chosen project. Sometimes you might complete your entire project in one lesson, but often you’ll complete it over a few classes.
You can work through your projects at your own pace, so don’t feel rushed to finish it in one class! We want you to focus on technique and learning new skills, rather than rushing to finish your project.
We’ll help guide you through your chosen project so you’ll have assistance in learning new techniques and skills. These classes are smaller in size (up to six people per class) so you’ll have more one-on-one teaching time.
Over the series you’ll make friends with like-minded sewers, learn new skills, share tips and tricks, and enjoy many cups of tea from our well-stocked studio kitchen. Thursday evenings well spent we’d say!

These classes suit all experience levels. There is no set program for these lessons, students can work through their projects at their own pace so you can start attending these classes at any point.
Students range from beginners working on our beginner projects to intermediate and advanced sewers who want to learn more advanced techniques such as pattern making.
